As of summer 2008, the New Orleans area Mission Zone churches will be incorporated into the New Orleans district. Current information on the Mission Zone area can now be found within New Orleans district information.

     To meet the changing needs of the hurricane-affected areas, a series of mission zones - or cooperative parishes - were established. In 2007, the original seven parishes in the New Orleans area were changed to three by area (Cross Town, East, West).   There is also a mission zone in southwestern Louisiana in the area affected by Hurricane Rita.
